Overview

What is ELC?

The Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) is a 3-day conference that will redefine how you approach leadership at your organization. Our unique blend of sessions challenges you to refine your healthcare leadership competencies, improve revenue generation from your workforce, prevent leader burnout, and develop essential soft skills like negotiation.

Meet face-to-face with leaders in all disciplines – clinical, administrative, education, and research – for interactive learning and ideation led by dynamic speakers and facilitators. You’ll return to your daily role with a renewed sense of purpose and brand-new ideas that just might transform healthcare.

*New this Year* We encourage teams of PAs and NPs to jointly attend the first two days of the conference. Day three will be for PAs only.

Should I attend?
We’ve specifically designed ELC for leaders and clinical administrators. There’s new curriculum each year for you.

What will I learn?
During the course, you will:

  • Explore relevant content, regardless of your healthcare setting
  • Experience content across various disciplines – we will have breakout sessions based on your practice area
  • Develop your management skills in areas of leadership, finance, recruitment and retention, performance management, and productivity
  • Network with a broad group of PA and NP administrators, from early on in leadership to seasoned
  • Use real-life case studies and problem-solving activities to cement your learning

Accreditation Statement

This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 19.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits for the three-day course and 13.25 AAPA Category 1 CME credits for the two-day course  from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.

 

Are you an NP?

NPs can often claim AAPA Category 1 CME credit as continuing education with AANPCB and ANCC. Check with your certification/licensing authority to confirm that AAPA credit is acceptable – and then register for this great conference!

*Please note: While Tuesday and Wednesday conference days are collaborative for PA and NP attendees, Thursday will be reserved exclusively for PAs.

Registration includes breakfast and lunch each day, a welcome reception, and online access to course materials. There is no single-day pricing for this course.

ELC Cancellation and Refund Policy

  1. We offer a 75% refund for cancellations received at least 30 days prior to a conference or seminar.
  2. We offer a 50% refund for cancellations received less than 30 days prior to a conference or seminar.
  3. Generally, we do not offer any refunds or credits for no-shows and cancellation notifications received after the conference or seminar is held.

Venue

The 2019 Executive Leadership Conference will take place at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, 1700 Tysons Blvd, McLean, VA 22102.

 

Hotel Accommodations

A special discounted rate of $209 has been negotiated for attendees of this meeting. This group rate will be available until Tuesday, October 22, 2019, or until the room block is full. After that time, a room cannot be guaranteed so BOOK EARLY!

Hotel Policies

Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. Reservations must be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid a no-show fee equal to one night’s room and tax. All reservations and cancellations must be made directly with the hotel.

 

Travel

Flying? This hotel is 14 miles from Dulles International Airport (IAD). Hotel shuttle service to and from the airport is not provided. Using rideshare services like Uber and Lyft is highly recommended in this area.

Driving? Self-parking is available for $12 per day. Valet parking is $25 per day and $45 for overnight.  Get more information regarding directions and other parking options.

Things To Do in Tyson’s Corner

Located just outside the nation’s capital, you’ll find plenty of things to do and see in Tysons Corner. Take time after the day’s sessions or extend your stay and check out some of the nation’s most historic sites. Jump on the Metro’s Silver Line or grab an Uber or Lyft and you’ll be downtown in no time!

The hotel is conveniently connected to the Tysons Corner Galleria, filled with shops and restaurants.  It’s also just across the street from Tysons Corner Center, a massive mall with hundreds of upscale stores and eateries, plus a cinema and an elevated outdoor plaza.

Info For Attendees

On-Site Conference Registration

  • On-site registration will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12. Please be sure to stop by and pick up your registration materials before heading into the sessions. You only need to check in once at the on-site registration desk.
  • ELC is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Use your smartphone, computer, or tablet to answer questions in CME sessions that use audience response system technology.
  • Meeting rooms might get cold. Don’t forget your sweater or light jacket.

 

Electronic Handouts

Please remember there is no paper syllabus for this course. Lecture materials and handouts will be available under “My Curriculum” in AAPA’s Learning Central two weeks before the conference start date.

 

Course Evaluations and CME Certificate

Your feedback helps us plan future conferences; therefore, your completion of course evaluations is a prerequisite for a CME certificate. The course evaluations/CME certificate will be available in AAPA’s Learning Central beginning Thursday, November 14, 2019. You will have until Sunday, December 15, 2019, to complete the evaluations.
